30+ mother of two, fiance of one; who loves to spend her free time reading m/m romance and the occasional paranormal romance or horror books.

Honky Tonk - Rain Carrington

Some parts I enjoyed, some parts I just hated. (monogamy? only for the sub apparently) Annoying editing issues lost this one a star.

Irregulars - Astrid Amara, Nicole Kimberling, Ginn Hale, Josh Lanyon

This was just really, really good. I guess with these authors, you really can't go wrong. And my first read from Ginn Hale! I'll have to check out the author's backlist because I think I liked that story the best.

Individual ratings;

Cherries Worth Getting by Nicole Kimberling - 4 stars. Great introduction to the world and I liked Gunther.

Green Glass Beads by Josh Lanyon - 4 stars. Really just loved both these characters and the ending was very sweet.

No Life But This by Astrid Amara - 5 stars. I loved Devon. Deadly, but so innocent in other ways.

Things Unseen and Deadly by Ginn Hale - 5 stars. My first read from this author and it was amazing! I liked seeing characters from the other stories make an appearance. And Henry's backstory was heartbreaking so it's great to see him get his HEA.

Really cannot recommend this enough! Well worth the read :)

Turbulence - Lyn Gala

Lyn Gala is officially moved to my favorite author list. :) Really enjoyed this sci-fi novel. It's a continuation of the author free read from the m/m romance group on goodreads (which I loved and am so happy she continued the story!)

I loved Jacqs. He's a bit of an ass, but the more you learn about him, the more you love him. Zeke was the perfect man for him. The action was great, but I wasn't sure how I felt about the ending.

Enjoyable read, good writing, great characters, and hot smexxin. Plus it's sci-fi! What more could you ask for? :)

The Darkling Thrush - Josh Lanyon

3 stars. Not my favorite Lanyon book by a long shot. Started to enjoy it after the halfway point, but I really just didn't get the romance. Septimus went from being condescending to being in love? I just didn't see it. (maybe if they spent more time together in the novel? I don't know)

The writing was still amazing, but it just didn't suck me in like most JL novels.
From Out in the Cold - L.A. Witt

Good solid writing. Angsty, but with more of a healing vibe than angst overload. I really liked both characters and seeing them open up to each other was great (loved the covered bridge scene!) Thought they were great as friends and pretty damn hot as lovers. :)

Medium, Sweet, Extra Shot of Geek - R. Cooper

2.5-3 stars. I really enjoyed this, but...nothing really happened! It had such potential, but I felt like it fell short of the mark. I liked the characters but the daughter wasn't really needed. I would of rather have read more of Tavio & Tommy actually being together besides the coffee shop.

So, cute, quick read, but left me unsatisfied.

Picked at the Peak - Alicia Nordwell

3 stars. Sweet romance between friends with a baby thrown in.

pretty sure they did
pretty sure they did
William - Anyta Sunday

3 stars. This was my first time reading this author's work and considering it's not the first in the series, I had no problems getting into it. (Though I'm sure the other characters mentioned are in previous books) Good story, but I just wasn't into the relationship between Kevin and Will. Kevin was waaay too hot and cold for me.

I am interested in reading Rory's story though. :)

Disasterology 101 - Taylor Donovan

Not a bad story at all, kept me (virtually) turning the pages (if only to find out how the heck these two would have sex with all the OCD issues Cedric has). Unfortunately, I just couldn't see the MC's as a lasting couple. Besides being pretty, I couldn't see why Kevin would be so super supportive and devoted to Cedric. There wasn't really much about him except his OCD and phobias.

Tag Team - S.J.D. Peterson

Really enjoy this author's writing and the blurb for this one sucked me in when I first saw it!

I really liked reading about these two dominant bears and gorgeous, emotionally wrecked guy. The emotional journey of Mason was heartbreaking. Bobby & Rig were so sweet with Mason. The three of them together was amazing and super sexy (after some great buildup.) Liked seeing Mason meeting a few of the other members of Folsom at the end (and can't wait to read more books in this series!)

What I was a little iffy on was the quickness of them getting together. I know grief and mourning come in all stages, but it seemed they got together a little too quickly (but really, I loved them together so much, I didn't really care.)

The BDSM is pretty light, just some spanking and obedience. Recommended :)

Butt Pirates in Space - Kiernan Kelly, Kage Alan, Angelia Sparrow, Shae Connor, T.C. Blue

What to Expect When Your Boyfriend is Expecting - 3 stars. Mpreg, which is usually not my thing, but thought this was cute.

Spacehunters: Master Elite and the Maternal Order of Loganites Beyond Uranus - 1 star though I admit I skimmed most of it. I had no clue what the heck was going on half the time. Just was not enjoyable.

B’utopia - 3.5 stars. Snarky and hot mc's. Agree with another reviewer that it was basically a jab at WalMart.

Free Gift with Purchase - 3 stars. I liked this one, but felt there were alot of ends left open at the end of the story.

Pride of the Rangers - 2 stars. Really just didn't click with this one. I didn't like the characters or feel the emotions between them. (I seem to be in the minority here, I think)

So, overall, 3 stars. Glad I had my Buy 10 code from ARe for this one or I think I'd be more disappointed.

Falcon - Lynn Hagen

What I liked - The tattoo artist lusting after the big, bad leader of a bunch of bikers. (sue me, it's fantasy!) The Darlings were interesting as the politics with other packs.

What I didn't like - Everything happens so fast. And characters are just supposed to get the f*ck over it. (ie - main characters gets 'converted', but since it wasn't as bad as the other main character's experience, he just needs to suck it up) Alot of happening in the background, laying the groundwork for future books.

Last Impressions - So, so start of a new series. I might not have liked all the groundwork being laid about everywhere, but I do want to read about the detective and Falcon's twin getting together (so I guess I shouldn't of complained then, huh?)

Honestly, Lynn Hagen's books are like crack to me. Usually quick, simple, feel good reads, I can't help buy buy them. (though I really wish Siren would get a decent cover artist)
